SUMMER OF 2006
These photos had
been taken during the summer of 2006
I met those kids at a mountain in Syria, they sell something called Merameya, it is the thing the two girls are holding, you cook this Merameya thing with rice or whatsoever, and as they say, your tummy won't heart no more! I bought the Merameya, but I did not get it because I was concentrating on taking the photos! lol!
The kid playing the flute is their cousin, he played the flute while the girls sang a beautiful song for me; they used my name in the lyrics, kind of to get me more interested in the Merameya, I paid for the songs too! which I videotaped :). Their life is so simple, they asked for $3 for the Merameya and the songs and were so happy. They told me that I made their day; I do not know why, but I cried that day. Some misc photos, the first one is from my city, Halifax, the second one, as you probably could tell is Toronto, and the last one is from Syria in a small village called Kasab. Enjoy the ride!
